Christmas Stocking for Colter

I made this at the last minute. Christmas snuck up and I hardly made anything Christmas. Colter "needed" a western stocking and I had the goods to get it done. So here it is on my mantle for photo purposes. This is a copy of a stocking I saw on Pinterest. I will give credit if I can find it.

Glittered Tab

Wow!! I worked with glitter! One of my phobia's in the world of papercrafting. I get it everywhere. I think about the recipient getting it everywhere. So needless to say I don't work with glitter often. I really liked the Make it Monday challenge and this was a fun little embellishment to make a card go from kind of vintagey plain to vintagey chic. I may have to do more of this technique, glitter and all. The only glitter that I had was a bit brassy but it worked ok after I added the gold embossing to the tricycle.
I used PTI stamps- Fancy Flourishes, Damask Designs and Everyday Button Bits
SU- Artful Artifacts
Unity- Generations
Floral Die cut PTI
Tab is from a SU punch
Inks Memento and SU
I embossed the tricycle with gold. Beaded up the center of the flower.

Reflected Scentiments

This is my entry for the Papertrey Make it Monday challenge. Oh and a challenge it was. I could not get my "reflections" to go on smooth. I tossed a few tries and finally settled on this one. Still not totally happy with the way it reflected. I will keep trying though.
I used the stamp sets, Everyday Button Bits and Hello Sunshine

Hello Everybody!! It's been a long time since I've participated in any challenges. The busy-ness of summer is over so I'm back and hope to be back in the swing of creating some fun stuff.
To start here is the inspiration photo over at Papertrey Ink

My project for the challenge is a wine bottle cover. I sewed up a bag with a bit of leftover fabric that I had then I added a Birthday Tag.

Tag is stamped with PTI All About You and Fillable Frames.
Flower pom pom is cut with Memory box Fringe die out of PTI Hawaiin shores felt.
I added a bit of stickles to to the flower pom pom and rhinestones to the tag. Used some braid that I had in my stash to gather the bag. Tied the tag on with a bit of silver twine. Ready to go to the next birthday!!

Shawn's card

Here's my entry for the Casual Fridays CAS challenge. "Clean and simple on a black card base". My text is done on computer. I stamped and colored the stars. SHAWN is cut out of 3 layers of letters then glued together to give it some depth. Then I topped it with liquid Glossy Accents.

July 2012 Papertrey Blog Hop Challenge

This is my card for the Papertrey's Blog Hop I got all the colors in from the inspiration photo!
I used Papertrey Green Tea leaves paper along with all the above mentioned PTI colors.
Stamps by PTI Butterfly Kisses and Remember
Scalloped edgers by PTI
Martha Stewart punch and a few Stickles.
That's it, that's all!!

Roll the Die

This was a different fun challenge from Papertrey Make it Monday You roll the die to make the decisions for you. I found it almost easier because I knew exactly what I had to use for colors and stamps. I usually change my mind so often while I'm working on something so this was "stick with what you roll" kind of a project. Not sure if I'm loving the finished piece but it's ok.
Here's my rolls:
Orientation-Horizontal
Layout #3
Stamp sets image-Beautiful Blooms 2
Color Combos-Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, Poppy Red, Kraft, Green
Sentiments- Everyday Button Bits(has lots of sentiments)
Embellishments- Rhinestones

Strips of Color or Pattern

My card today is for the Casual Fridays CAS challenge Using strips of color or pattern. I started out trying to simulate a sunset with colours of cardstock. It ended up looking more summery and beach like so I added some shells and birds and it's ok. Not sure what the names of the colours are or the name of the stamps (old set). I sponged the edges of the papers some to make them blend a bit better then used versa mark and embossed with clear EP for the shells and birds. Summer look for a hot summer day!

Stampin on Texture

And once I got started with this Papertrey's Make it Monday technique I had to do another one! For this card I used 2 Cuttlebug folders. The eyes are done with a circle folder and then punched out using a 5/8 inch punch. Owl body was done with the Argyle folder. I used PTI Pretty pastels paper and Aqua Mist paper and ribbon. To stamp the eyes I used one of the background stamps from PTI Strawberry Patch. The owl and branches were cut out with my Silhouette cameo.

Close up of the Owl Eyes

Stamping on Texture and Pinspiration Challenge

Photo for PInspiration
This is my entry for the Make it Monday Stamping on Texture and Pinspiration ChallengeWhat a challenge to find something to work. I used an old, old brass template. Ran it through my Bigshot. Stamped it with PTI Sheet Music  Background Basics stamps in SU River Rock. Mounted it on PTI Pretty Pastels paper and SU Riverock paper. I also did a bit of topic colouring on a few of the flowers.

Using Text

Here's my card for the challenge on Casual Fridays challenge Using text. For my card I used an old PSX stamp K-3237 that I love. Inked up with Memento London Fog. I used a paper towel to wipe out the edges so that it fades on the edges. Flower and stem are from SU Wonderful You. Colored and a few stickles in the center, mounted on black and grey and it's done.
Our weather is gettting to some of that HOT stuff that we've been hearing about south and east of us. It's nice to stay indoors and do a bit of crafting/stamping! I do go out and move the water sprinkler and that's enough to get good and warmed up. Humidity is also higher than usual.

Stamping on Patterned paper

Back again with a "Stamped on Patterned paper" thank you card for Make it Monday #73 challenge I used a new Stampin Up stamp on PTI Pretty Pastels paper, with Berry Sorbet ink. Kraft paper and jute twine are from PTI.

Christmas in July

My card today is for 2 challenges. One for Papertrey Make it Monday Step it Up Embellishments and the other one for Casual Fridays 2 Circle project. I decided on the Christmas look because I really wanted to try out the PTI Damask Snowflakes. I got them just before Christmas and never got a chance to give them a go. My 2 circles are the circle that the "joy"word is mounted on and the letter "O" in joy. I raised them all up with foam tape to make my embellishment.

PTI June Blog Hop Challenge

The Inspiration Photo for the June challenge at Papertrey Ink

And here's my take on the challenge
I used the PTI All About You stamp set and Aqua Mist and Lemon Tart cardstock and Lemon Tart swiss dotted ribbon.
SU Certainly Celery and Ripe Avocado ink
The ribbon on the right looks a little weird on the picture. Not sure why, it looks fine IRL.
So there it is and I hope I'm one of the lucky participants!!

Bordered Sentiments

I'm back and finally took the time to do a challenge card again. It seems like it has been a busy spring even though we have had a rainy cool one. Looks like the heat is here!! This card is for the challenge over at Papertrey Ink Make it Monday I used the PTI Strawberry Patch stamp set. Colored with copics. My border is drawn twice because my green circle just didn't show up with just one. I cut a second template circle and drew another line, colored in between the two. Very simple technique for a quick card.

Brianna's Card

We are having a bright and sunny Monday after a 2 day rain. I love rainy days especially when the sun comes out in full force after it. Everything is so fresh and green.
My card is for the challenge over at Casual Fridays They are celebrating their first birthday and there's lots of prizes to be won. So the theme is all about birthdays. Here's my project that I am entering. I used my computer to come up with a suitable sentiment and fit it around my turtle. I needed a belated card for my niece so it was perfect timing. I used SU stamps for the balloon (The Fine Print) and turtle(just one of my random stamps). I colored them bright and cheery.

Take the Time

I'm back after a bit of a break to make and decorate a wedding cake for my niece. That was lots of fun but I sure do miss the card creations. This is my card for the challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays  **Spring is here so show us your Clean and Simple creations with flowers or trees**.
Spring is a time for seeing all the miracles!
For my card I did a bit of stamping, coloring, sponging and a bit of computer printing.
Stamps used: SU Branch Out and Unity (one of their discontinued KOM)T

May be Gladiolas, may be Lupins

I'm thinking these flowers look a bit like Lupins or Gladiolas?? I used the same sort of technique as my previous card entry with the PTI Leafy vine border die but just stretched it down the dowel instead of staying circular. I laid a strip of fast drying adhesive and then placed my "spiral" onto the glue. I gave the watering can a bit of an antiqued look by stamping it off lightly before finish stamping it. This die really has some potential. Love that sunflower entry by Kelly G !! Check out the MIM detailsHERE
Stamps used PTI Life, Garden Variety
Die Leafy vine border
Paper PTI and SU

Roses in a pocket

This challenge was so fun that I had to make a couple more. I played with the PTI Leafy vine border die and found out that there's flowers galore to be made. Details for the MIM PTI challenge are found right HERE. After cutting the die out I cut it down the center lengthwise, I twisted it around a thin dowel and then glued the base to a punched out 1/2 inch circle. I sponged some color onto the ends, curled them some and used a bit of Copic here and there to add some definition. I cut a skinny edge from some paper to make the twirly fronds. Not sure it they will crush if put into an envelope. Might be a good idea to paint them with some sort of stiffener. Added a bit of Flower soft to the centers.
Stamps: used PTI Little Bitty bird and Wplus9 Spring tags
Papers: PTI, MS and SU

Make it Monday

I'm back with another challenge card. This one is for Make it Monday #61 and I agree with some of the other entrants that it certainly is a fun challenge. "Make a flower using a die other than a flower die". Endless possibilities!! For my flower I used a Spellbinders leaf die from Assorted Leaves. Stacked them up and voila a flower.
Other supplies: Stamp: PTI Background Sheet Music
Paper PTI Pretty pastels on flower and bird
Other dies: Wplus9 leaves and bird from Folk art Florals and little hearts from Love Notes, Spellbinders center of flower

All Things New again

Happy April Everyone! Spring has sprung here! We're having warm days but not for long. Forecast is for a snowy Easter. My card today is for the challenge at Casual Fridays CAS "A Clean and Simple project based on a song". My card is inspired by a beautiful song by Brad Paisley and Sara Evans. If you have never heard it check it out at New Again So very fitting during this season that shows us A love beyond words. May you have a Happy and Blessed Easter!

Address Labels

This was a simple little project but I think it still works perfectly. I made some return address labels on the computer and printed them on sticky paper and then cut them out with a Spellbinders die for the Make it Monday challenge. I stamped grass (loving this stamp) and flowers with the PTI Garden Variety set. I bordered the bottom of my envelope to match. I think you could use whichever stamps to work with the season.  I blurred my address for privacy reasons.

Bookmarker Challenge

It's another day of snow and slush here : (
Oh well more time at my paper crafting : )  This is a bookmarker for the challenge at Joans Gardens I decided to make my marker in the shape of a heart. You get to use up your scraps with this project and make something cute as a bonus. I covered the back and stamped a little something it to finish it. So that's it... hope I win!

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop Challenge

It's that time again!! Here's the photo to spark some creations and enter the challenge at Papertrey .

Here's my take on the challenge. When I saw the photo all I saw was lots of candy and springtime so I just had to make a candy holder with a spring theme. It was a fun cheery poject and brightened a snowy day here : )

I used MS dsp for the bottom. PTI Aqua mist and Lemon tart papers and a bit of Aqua mist ribbon.
Stamps used: P'TI Butterfly Kisses, Polka Dot basics, Garden Variety and Everyday Buttoon Bits
Cut the center with Nestabilities.
Filled a little ziplock with M+M's.
Here's the back and sideviews.

Graduated color

I tried another graduated color project making a rainbow this time. It worked really good. Nice blend of colors and all. Definitely works!! I used the cloud die cuts from PTI and the bird and hearts are from the Little Bitty Bird stamp set. Embossed the clouds with a cuttlebug folder and finished with a SU smile sentiment. Now to enter it in the Make it Monday challenge

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Here's my card for the Make it Monday challenge . Not sure if my colors are leaning toward sunrise or sunset. Maybe more sunrise?? I did my background with Copics and thinking I would like to try a "water ink" one as well. Looks like fun. I used the PTI stamp set Through the Trees.
Hope everybody is having a Happy Wednesday!!

Easter Card

The weather is gloomy on this Monday morning, feels more like winter is back with the snow and icy conditions so I decided I would get my card done for the challenge at Joans Gardens. Joan and Selma create a bit of a challenge because of the different components. It's always good to stretch the creativity. I really have to think to make it work to my liking. Here's what was required- Easter card -Embossed background -Colors for Easter -Flourish -Rhinestones. I got it all covered!!

Color Kissing Make it Monday

I'm back with another challenge post. To see all the details on Papertrey's Make it Monday challenge #57 click HERE. It certainly looks easier than it actually is to do. I was surprised that so many backgrounds just don't look right with certain stamps. I tried some script but found out that when I "kissed" it onto my stamp it came out backwards. So that was my trials and errors for this project. This card looks better in real than it does on the picture.
I used PTI Text Boxed, Polka Dot Basics and Everyday Button Bits for my project. The rest is pretty straight forward.

Altered project

I'm back after a long break and a wonderful holiday in Hawaii. It sure has taken some doing to get me back in the groove of being home and into a routine of "things to do" but slowly I am getting back at it. I missed doing the challenges and my crafting. And so for a altered project for a challenge over at  Joans Gardens we had to use a recycled box, preferably round, color theme my choice, lace, and use pearls and flowers. So I think I got it covered. I used a Macadamia Candy can. Added MS paper. Glued on some May arts flowers and the pearls are in the centers. With the weather so warm and spring like I just had to go with an Easter project. Added a curly wire for a make shift handle and it's done.  Hope you like it!!

Birthday Animal Antics

Happy February Everyone!! We are having a mild winter in Canada and loving it!! Today I am entering a challenge over at Simon Says Stamp The challenge is make a card using "Animal Antics" preferably using Stampabilities. I didn't have any animals in that brand so I used my Penny Black" It's Your Day Spoil Yourself Silly". I don't make many projects using animals but it was fun giving it a whirl.
Additionally I use some colored Dewdrops and Prima flowers. Did a bit of watercoloring with water color  pencils.

Vintage Birthday

This card took me so long I wouldn't admit it if I would have kept track of the time : ) It just didn't look right no matter what I tried. Still not so sure I'm loving it?? I always admire the vintage looking cards but find them difficult to do. When Joan's Gardens challenge requirement was to include distressed edges I immediately thought "vintage".  I used a stamp for the first time that I won from Joan for one of the challenges. I am also entering this card in the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp "Anything goes". Check them out. So here's my finished project. In case you're wondering the flower at the bottom is purple although it doesn't look like it on the picture.

Stamps used LaBlanche (don't remember the name)
Webster's pages paper
THoltz ink Crushed Corduroy
I used a bit of dimensional glaze on the purple flower and Sage green Flowersoft
The rest is just bits and peices from my stash.
