Vintage Birthday

This card took me so long I wouldn't admit it if I would have kept track of the time : ) It just didn't look right no matter what I tried. Still not so sure I'm loving it?? I always admire the vintage looking cards but find them difficult to do. When Joan's Gardens challenge requirement was to include distressed edges I immediately thought "vintage".  I used a stamp for the first time that I won from Joan for one of the challenges. I am also entering this card in the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp "Anything goes". Check them out. So here's my finished project. In case you're wondering the flower at the bottom is purple although it doesn't look like it on the picture.

Stamps used LaBlanche (don't remember the name)
Webster's pages paper
THoltz ink Crushed Corduroy
I used a bit of dimensional glaze on the purple flower and Sage green Flowersoft
The rest is just bits and peices from my stash.

Blog Hop January 2012

The Blog Hop challenge at Papertrey Ink is to pick a favourite from 2011 and remake it. I loved making the CD/DVD cases and loved how they turned out so that is my choice for the remake. I kept this one a bit more simple because I was pressed for time. Still like how it turned out.
Stamps I used are PTI Damask Designs, Fillable Frames, and dates are from Enjoy the Ride
Paper- Raspberry Fizz

These are my 2011 projects

Just Black and White

Hello again, I am posting a card for the challenge over at Casual Fridays All that is required is "Just Black and White". Easy enough!! I made an ink boo boo at the end of one of my flourishes so I just drew a little extra onto the end of one of the tails, and here's my creation....
Stamps used- Unity Bevy of Butterflies, PTI Through the trees
Die- THoltz Tattered flowers
Embossing folder SU poinsettia
Spellbinders Labels one die to make the frame

Ghost Masking 1

Another card made with the Make it Monday challenge. This just feels like a bit of a reject. Not sure what is wrong but I will add it anyway. One thing is the colors don't stand out on the Kraft color as well as on the lighter colors.  I tried. Twice!

Stamps- PTI Garden Variety and Life. Unity Gingham. SU Script background
Paper SU Kraft and black
Ink- SU Basic Grey, Regal Rose, Marigold Morning, Olive Green, Night of Navy, Chocolate chip. Versamark and Embossing powder
Scallop Edge Die from PTI and matching die for Garden Variety.

Ghost Masking 2

Not really happy with my finished projects but I tried : ) This is a Make It Monday project for Ghost masking. I don't think I stamped off enough of the red and yellow ink to show a distinction inside the label. I will try this technique again. I think it will be easier next time. Experience is a best teacher!

Stamps-PTI Beautiful Blooms II and Vintage Labels
Nestabilities- Labels One
SU colors- Olive grn, Very Vanilla
Ink- SU Real red, Lovely Lavender, Summer Sun, Pretty in Pink
I used the Label Die to draw an outside line to make it stand out more.

Love Like You Will Never Be Hurt

Here's my card for the challenge over at Joan's Gardens
-Create a Valentine in "non-traditonal colors"
-Use some kind of lace
-Use a flower-rose if possible
-Use a key
I made a second card of the previous one and added a couple of hearts to make it more Valentine-ish. All the details of things used are the same as the previous one and the hearts were cut out using a Cuttlebug die. I embossed both of the hearts, one clear and the other white. I used a stamp from a SU set called Clearly For You. I didn't have an actual lace that worked so I punched out a lacy edge using the MS lace punch. Hope it all works.

Love Like You Will Never Be Hurt

A card for the challenge over at Causal-Fridays "Create a Clean and Simple project with scallops".

I used a background stamp by Stampin up. Other three are by Unity. The rose is handcut and rolled. I brushed a bit of Cream colored ink on the edges to give it a bit of depth. Paper by SU and PTI. Borders with PTI scallop border and MS lace punch. Creamy Carmel ink by SU and Berry Sorbet by PTI.

Burgundy, Gold and Plum project

These are the colors suggested to use in the challenge over at Playdatecafe I would have never thought to use these as a combo. The inspiration photo is so pretty.

I made a birthday card with the colors using an old set from SU. Punch from EK success and a bit of gold ribbon. Gold Stickles to top the candles and a bit of sparkle in the dress and cake. I made this card late so took the pic at night so there's a bit of shadows and the colors aren't quite as true as they should be.

Love Line Frame Card

This is a quick card that I did. It felt like I cheated because it was so easy. It's my "missed" project for  Make it Monday #47 and I chose to do #12 Line Frame 101 by Nicole Heady. Got some great tips for making a perfect line around my card. Whenever I tried to draw a line around my cards I was never satisfied with my completed work. Now I know the secret on how to get it just right. Thanks Nicole!

I used PTI Damask Designs sentiment and the tiny heart is selective inking on a PTI Trademarks stamp and the Eiffel Tower stamp is by Stampabilities.

Ornament gift

This is a ornament made by my sister in law. Thank you Norma! She made all the girls at the Christmas party an ornament (all different). We got to choose. It got a chance to be in my tree 2011, but just barely. The tree comes down hopefully this weekend. I'm feeling like it should already be down but we have a birthday bash for Stan and then Christmas is officially over.

Coffee Thank you envelope

Happy New Year Everyone! So quickly another year is done and gone. My first project of the year begins with a challenge project for Cas-ual Fridays. To see the details click HERE and for Market Street Stamps block party. To see the details of all this fun click HERE
I used the digi stamp provided by Market Street so that I could play along. I have added a picture with the score lines. Very easy. Just add your double sided sticky tape along the edge of the 3" and 5" spots and along the edges of ends. After folding and glueing edges trim a small edge at the 4" mark. This will be where your gift card slides into. I added a velcro dot for the closure along with the twine. Decorate however you wish. I chose to use the digi stamp and fit it in with a computer sentiment. Bottom sentiment stamp and edge is by SU.
