Chalkboard Art Square frames

Go HERE to check out this weeks challenge at Papertrey Ink #139 Stamed square frames. I used PTI stamp sets Vintage labels and All about You and sentiments from Everyday Button Bits. Other stamps by Unity.

Inlaid Diecuts Challenge

Happy November!! This is my project for the challenge that is Papertrey Ink Inspired I layered the two snowflakes from a set of two from Papertrey Ink then layed it on red cardstock. Bit of a challenge alright. I embossed the background (snowspecks) with white EP and then sponged with blue. The little sentiment is from and old set from SU. Small snowflakes are from another PTink set Holiday Tree.

Dimensional Wreath Challenge #137

Here's my card using leaves to make a dimensional wreath. Check out the challenge HERE I used the PTI Border die. Cut it down the middle, made little indentations in each leaf and then wound it around in a circle. I snipped a few leaves and then layered them on top to fill in some spaces. The sentiment is from PTI Tree Trimming Trio and papers from PTI Holiday Flourishes and Swirls. Was going to add some berries etc but just didn't think it needed it.

I used some paperclay on a star and stocking and also added lots of gold foiling.

Textured Stamped Tag

I kept thinking that this tree from PTI stamp set Holiday Tree might work well for the textured stamping. I stamped the tree in halves swooping down on each side to give it a bit of a branch look. Kind of hard to see on the picture. Details on Textured stamping HERE at Papertrey Ink.

Textured Stamping

Here's my card for Papertrey Ink Challenge #136 I used PTI stamp sets Text Boxed and sentiment from Damask Designs. I wanted just a subdued, slightly modern look with the black grey and white design so I just accented with a bit of dull gold and a single rhinestone. The textured stamping gave it a bit of a brushstroke look. I like it!!

Argyle Stitching

This is my entry for the Casual-Fridays challenge CFC117:  Use real or faux stitching on your CAS project. I decided to try some Argyle by cutting out the diamonds first on the navy and then glueing it down onto some kraft cardstock. Stitched with white pen. My stitching looks a bit wrinkly. Didn't think it would be that hard to get those lines real straight. Anyway it's nice to have some masculine cards on hand. Stamp from PTI and then I placed the circle into a Memory keepers metal ring. Tied up with a bit of red ribbon.

Birthday Repeat and Lift

I needed a birthday card so I went looking for something that would work for this week's Papertrey Ink Make it Monday project. I didn't have any matching stamps and die cuts so I used the PTI All about You stamp set. Did some fussy cutting and it all worked out ok in the end. The colors on the backgound are rolled on with a brayer roller. I didn't put the color on the embossing folder because I wanted it subtle.

Dimensional Paste Winter Card

This is my challenge entry for Make It Monday #133 Creating a Flocked Look with Dimensional Paste Fun Technique and it adds so much to a card! Liking it alot! I didn't have any cover plates so I used a SU brass stencil that I have owned forever.
I used PTI stamp sets Through the Trees (bird) and Holiday Tree. Few sparkles here and there and a bit of thread for a scarf.

Striped Embossing

Here's a card that I worked on way to long and still not loving it. Don't know why?? I did the "striped embossing" Make it Monday technique as seen HERE on the butterfly. Used three colors. I had to cut it out because I had too many little flecks around it. So this was the end result. It is a bit brighter on the photo than IRL.
PTI products used: Beautiful Blooms II die and Stamp set, Ric Rac die, ButterflyKisses Stamp set, checked background on flower pattern is from Strawberry Patch.

Heat and Bond on Die cuts

Fun technique! shown by Erin at PaperTrey InkI found a bag that I saved from pillowcases that I bought and started from there. I used PTI clouds dies(felt) and Little Lady stamps. I stamped then fussy cut the ladybug. Stamped the little sentiment, antennae and lady bug trail with memento ink directly onto the bag. Was surprised at how well that worked. Because this will never be washed it will be just fine. I did heat set it with a hot iron. I ironed the red gingham strip onto the bottom. The sun was cut by hand as well. Perfect little gift bag.

Rolled Dough designs 3

One more and pretty much identical replica of Jessica Witty's design. Love that ornament she made. I was on a roll!! lol I used a paper doily to emboss the clay and then used PTI's A Wreath for all Seasons on the sentiment. Library ledger for the 2013. Painted it with a pearl paint. Check it out at Papertrey Ink for some neat ideas on working with paper clay.

Rolled Dough Designs 2

This is a second entry for Stamp affair at Papertrey Ink This time I used Ashley Cannon Newell and Jessica Witty's designs. The backing of the snowflake is done by pressing lace into the clay to give it texture and then letting it dry. I used the PTI die to cut the snowflake. Used the cookie cutter technique and brass stencil for the front snowflake. Painted all over with pearl paint, punched a hole and then a added string for another cute gift tag or something to hang on a tree.

Rolled Dough Designs

Here is my entry for the Stamp Affair 2013 Rolled Dough design over at Papertrey Ink. Check it out for some super fun ideas. I chose to use Jessica Witty's design. It caught my idea immediately and I think these would make some great gift tags that can later be used to hang on a tree or garland. I stamped the paperclay with a blue ink and PTI background Basics Sheet music. It's hard to see but I stamped the ink onto them while they were still wet. This added a bit of texture to the clay.  I then cut them out with cookie cutters. Glossed them up with glossy accents after they were dry and added pearls to the tree. Fun project!!

One Year Old Jubilee

It's been awhile since my last post. Summertime has a way of keeping me away from my crafting. I needed a card for a special little one year old. Jubilee's card is a hand cut dress and embossed with a cuttlebug folder. The number 1 is cut with cameo silhouette. This to be entered into the challenge over at Casual Fridays using a number on a creation.

This cute little gal celebrated her first birthday and loving her cake too!! She was loving that it was all hers to enjoy!

I am giving this card to my Niece and her family. They just bought their first home and this was perfect timing and the color of the house that they bought.

Pretty Banners

I've been MIA for a bit because of all the gardening that had to be done. I'm kinda caught up and today was a cool rainy day so I found the time to get a bit of a papercrafting fix!!
This is my creation for the challenge over at
Make it Monday #119 Flagged Borders and
at Casual Fridays Using Banners and or Flags.
I used the SU Clouds Embossing folder, Papers from Papertrey Ink and Sentiment is from Hello Sunshine by PTI. The trim was cut using the Leaf border die by PTI.
Cute ideas as I hardly ever use flags in any of my cards.

Beyond Paper with Impression Plates

Our weather has finally turned a corner. Balmy warm temps!! So enjoying it!

Here's my take on the challenge from Make It Monday. Instead of making a card I decorated a candle jar using the silver tape. I cut a strip long enough to fit the jar. I cut the top with PTI small scalloped border die. I punched random flower and stars so the candle light will shine through. Then I embossed it with PTI circle impression plate. This would be an easy addition to a themed party, shower etc. The tape is high temp heat resistant so that's an added bonus.

Pearly Finish

For this card I used Perfect pearls to be entered in the challenges at PTI Make it Monday and SimonSaysStamp  anything goes. I used stamps by PSX (background) and PTI -Through the Trees.  I used a versa mark embossing pen with gold embossing powder at the bottom to add the detail. When I took the picture I caught a bit of the sheen with a different angle to show off what a difference the Perfect Pearls make.

Chevrons and Flowers

Hello again, this card is so cheery. Weather is not so cheery at all. Unbelievable -15 (celsius) degrees this morning. I'm sure that has to be record breaking!! Canada is cold but this is ridiculous already!
Today I am joining a brand new challenge called Fusion Card Challenge New for me and a new challenge. I chose to use the combination of the photo and the sketch. Sounds fun check it out. Also this card meets the requirements for Casual-Fridays CFC97- Create a Clean And Simple project that features both chevrons and flowers!
I used punches for all of the flowers, Sizzlet for leaves. Stamps by Lawnfawn, Unity and SU. I drew the black line border and bee trail in by hand.

Collage Elements

It's April 8th and we woke up to a dump of snow, AGAIN!!! It's springtime somewhere I know it and wish it was here. More bad weather allows more time for more fun paper playing!. Ok so on with the challenge entry for over at PTI Capture the Moment  "Creating a Collage Element project". Thought I'd try a masculine card. I have 5 brothers so one of them will be the recipient on their next birthday. I'm always short on guy cards. I used PTI Stamps Through the Trees and Mini Library Ledger  and a set from Clear Art Stamps(don't know the name) and SU alphabet stamps.
